I still haven't seen "The Incredibles"--should I?

I saw "Word Play" this past weekend. It was pretty good--just like a 90 minute NPR story.

RW--I was able to download and listen without a problem. Sounds good to me. I like your setting of the 23rd psalm--it's also on the St. Paul Cathedral series of the psalter. My choir uses a different setting, but I like yours better. Must convert the choirmaster....

I'm getting a little suspicious. I can't help but wonder if you're all colluding to get the price up, so you can dump the stock and use your profits to buy new whistles. This kind of market manipulation can get you into big trouble--just ask those Lay/Skilling guys......

Hey Steve, I'm a newbie, too--also playing a Tipple. I'm in the same boat as you--getting notes, but lots of air. I tried Fluttered's advice last night to really tighten and focus the air stream which helped greatly. As a newbie, I'm finding the hardest notes to hit consistently are the lowest 2 or ...

Hey Spittin' Good luck to you with the rain. I'm on the North Shore and most of the schools in the area were closed today due to impassable streets. It took me 2.5 hours to get to work today due to Rt. 1 being closed and all the Boston traffic jumping on 128. I'll be glad when it finally stops raini...

Nice looking floors. Is the bamboo laminated on top of a substrate, or are the planks solid bamboo? Is it nailed down like a hardwood floor or "floating" like Pergo? This Norm-wannabee wants to know!

Dale, didn't you know that Bostonians are known for their effusive warmth and compassion? Why would we try to sell a car to a poor grad student for $10K when they can only afford $5K? That's the kind of folk we are. But seriously, I'd go with Doug's advice and buy through a reputable dealer. I'm sur...

Well, I went to the show on Friday, and I thought it was excellent. Seamus didn't play as much flute/whistle as I would have liked--low whistles on 3 or 4 tunes and flute on another 3 (including an extended unaccompanied flute solo that was cool). The sound mix was pretty bad at the start--the downs...

Hi Jim--no experience busking here, but you will probably need a permit to perform on the street in Boston (Cambridge, too). Here's an article from the Boston Phoenix pointing out some problems of being a street musician. http://www.bostonphoenix.com/boston/news_features/top/features/documents/04097...

It seems like WW postings have taken over the board. One thing I wanted to toss out there in response to Christopher's note is that I bought a Bb/A set from Glenn back in Jan. 05, and that one did not come with stickers either. My D, bought in 2004, has the sticker. I guess Glenn must have had stick...

Solas Live

Anyone seen Solas live? I'm going to see them for the first time this Friday in NH. Just curious what your thoughts are on their live shows.

ahh, light finally dawns on marble head (as we'd say 'round these parts). I was trying to manipulate the speed from a CD, and your comment about MP3 format, made me realize I was using the wrong media. Once I ripped the CD onto my hard drive, I was able to use MS WP to change the speed. I can now pl...
