I have a fake Overton high D I bought on e-bay. It looks nice but the head will drop off the body. If I tape it together and it's unplayable. I could never get my Oak D to work well either although I blame that more on me than whistle.

I recall an Irish mystery in which there was a very good fiddler who led the local session. The fiddler was also lazy, a crook and a murderer. One of his fellow villains killed him about half way through the book. There was concern he'd also be a rat. They knew he was gone when he didn't turn up at ...

UHM---We've seen her in a swim suit. We've seen her play the flute. I believe she came in second as Miss Alaska. Either there was some funny judging going on or it says something really scary about the talents and looks of the contestants who did not fare so well.

I also think you did the right stuff. I'd have gone straight to 911. The construction guys are a bad sign. They always think it couldn't be anything they did.

Has anyone heard whether any provision has been made for pets this time? One of the main reasons people will refuse to leave their homes in a disaster is that authorities will force them to leave family pets behind to "take their chances." This wasn't helped by scenes at the Superdome aft...

When my wife ran into problems a few years ago, they eventually told her to look for another job. We went to a lawyer. When she heard the story and noted that my wife was in her early 50s, she explained about age discrimination. The law (federal I think) protects people over a certain age, 50 I thin...

Sadly, the others have it about right. The word "entitlement" is a legal term relating to certain categories of government benefits that go to beneficiaries because they're in a legally defined class. For example a person is "entitled" to WIC benefits if they meet income limits a...

Bugs are driving us crazy

There is the sudden appearance of many small winged insects. They have a short life expectancy I hope.
