Thomas Hardy's Ale. I haven't had it for 15 years and don't know if it's still being made. I know they stopped production in '99 but hear that they've started up again. I can still vividly remember the thick, smooth, creamy brew. Cruise on down to Florida. We've got it. I haven't had it yet cause i...

I fell asleep before watching the second part(largely due to libations) but I guess I didn't miss much. I've read the book a couple of times and it's an excellent read. However, the movie didn't do justice to the images the book gave me. I got the sense they were trying to "modernize" the ...

You can look for the middle ground........ Maybe cook 2 main dishes (one vegetarian/one meat) and 3 or 4 side items that can appeal to everyone. I think you might fare well with light italian or mediteranean food. I don't know how much of a vegetarian you are but you could look into cooking seafood ...

Praying for rain

http://staugustine.com/stories/051208/news_051208_032.shtml This is really early in the season for fires to be starting up. These fires were only a couple miles from my house! I'm just glad they've gotten them under control. I use a bicycle to get around and riding through smoke and ash with winds p...

That's no surprise at all. I've been a cook for 13 years and I have yet to work in a kitchen where there weren't people who used drugs. It's very common for employees to sell to each other as well. I'm ok with this. But I'm not ok with using your place of employment as a public marketplace. It demon...

You could always look for a nice cardboard box and a quiet alleyway!

But seriously...you could search and post on Craigslist for a room or something like that. You might be able to stay a weekend for the price of a single night at a hotel.

As a tattooed freak of nature and a professional whistle player I'm not prone to tradition. I've played along with all sorts of different musicians and it's alot of fun. I've even got a few cover songs down on the whistle like The Eagles, Green Day, White Stripes, PLain White T's etc... The only pro...

Favorites of mine are Meunster, Stilton(any blue really), aged cheddars, and smoked gouda.

Try pairing cheese with beers! Aged cheddars go really well with ales and hoppy beers....but don't partake in too much before bedtime....it doesn't digest quickly and can give you a rude awakening!!

Dogfish Head Brewery consistently amazes me. Their specialty beers are intelligent and creative(I'm referring to the research involved in making them...not the mental capacity of the beers themselves) and their regular and seasonal brews are outstanding examples of their respective varieties. Their ...

Thank heavens the pub I work for(and performed music for) doesn't believe in that kitchy green-beer nonsense! They did, however, sell 2 full kegs of Guinness along with several other kegs of other Irish beers. I personally spent most of the evening polishing off my flask full of Bushmills! Twas a gr...
