I'm not really sure. I would like to get one that is of comparable value to the flute. And, I would prefer to get one that is loud since I plan to use it for street performing. But I'm not too particular as long as it's in tune and sounds good.

FS or Trade: Sweetheart keyless flute in D

I have a Sweetheart keyless flute in D made from Cherry wood that I would like to sell or trade. This flute is roughly 10 years old and bearing the serial number 1570. It is in beautiful condition with no cracks and no scratches along the body. I very, very seldom play it due to the air requirements...

I don't care what anyone says....that kid SHREDS it! I watched some of his other videos and had many joygasms. I've played for over 13 years and I'm impressed. I was particularly fond of the video where his brother is playing the skateboard as a drum!

I do a fair amount of street performing here in St Augustine and I absolutely LOVE it! Tourists and locals alike really enjoy it. I would vote Susato for a loud whistle. Since it's a quiet place I'm usually not concerned with volume....but occasionally I have Djembe players with me and my Susato Bfl...

Thanks for the information Martin! I do hope it turns out to be in C/G, it'll fit in better with the traditional celtic music I prefer to play. I'm looking forward to learning a new instrument.

what kind of concertina is this?

On a whim I decided I'd like to try my hand at the concertina and so........I went on ebay and bought one! For a grand total of $23.80 I am the owner of the following concertina. I hope this link works. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7415910177&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3A...

I used to be a DJ and I can tell you....vintage or not....needles/cartridges for ANY turntable are not cheap...and if your particular turntable is "out-of print" so to speak you're better off picking up a new-2-you turntable from the pawnshop or flea market....it's alot cheaper....besides....

Bagpipes have always made my blood flow....I grew up with my dad being a competition piper. I've finally decided to learn bagpipes at 26 and he recommended that I should first buy a practice chanter and the "College of Piping Tutor" (I can't remember the author...but one of these other fin...

just my 2 cents......... I own 3 Generations...an F, G, and Eflat. The Eflat is the only one that I dislike for it's "raspiness". I love my F and my G...great sounding whistles...even if the pitch is too high for most people...lol

I have not yet accquired a low whistle so I can't offer any opinions there...and I have not yet accquired a practice chanter..although I'm familiar with pipe fingering(my dad being a veteran piper of 30+years). So yeah...just regular fingertip playing for me. I've inquired with Ralph Sweet about mak...

music written for bagpipes

Just a poll...topic of discussion...whatever... I don't know if it's been mentioned before but, if you're playing a D whistle you can read highland bagpipe music as-is and it works great...nevermind the crans unless you wanna really get technical....but bagpipe music has been a great source for expa...

I owned a native-american flute once upon a time but never researched the music. I know from experience that the scales and keys in the music would be a little off for the hardcore whistler. I encourage you to try though....if you can play by ear try that first. If you can actually find sheet music ...
