Re: Reyburn D/C set on eBay

I have the Session set and they play great. The tone is fairly crisp and clear with little chiff. Very responsive and strong. In my opinion they are not delicate whistles and are well suited to more aggressive playing. Ronaldo has some sound samples on his website and here's a video of me playing Ta...

Reyburn D/C set on eBay

Not my whistles. Just found them on eBay and would like to alert the public. I already own a set so I've no need to bid.

St Augustine, FL Session

Hello there folks! We have a session every Thursday at Barley Republic here in the nation's oldest city. Its an open session and not super traditional. It's about 60% trad and 40% jam(although the music stays within the bounds of Celtic music). But our regulars include a harper, a tenor banjo, an ui...

Cittern chord bible

Hello out there! Does anybody have a copy of the Fretted Friends Cittern Chord Bible for long scale instruments?? The darn thing is out of print and appears to be completely unavailable! I have two long scale citterns that I'm building and this book covers the tunings I want for them. Btw... I know ...

Re: Non-whistle Influences

I learned to emulate some of the bagpipe ornamentation. Could I ask what some of those ornaments would be? In pipe lessons the things that are taking my attention -- grace notes and doublings and grips and things -- I take to be punctuation rather than melodic ornaments. They often sound pretty bad...

Re: Non-whistle Influences

When I was a boy(9-10 years old) learning the whistle my dad would be practicing GHBs for competition and pipe band. Since I didn't hang out with too many whistle players at the time I learned to emulate some of the bagpipe ornamentation. I also accompanied my father to historical re-enactments(as p...

I'm working through a 20 pack of the Michelob micro brews. I emailed Michelob, and they ARE all malt beers. I've really been enjoying them. They might not be the best of their types, but they are very drinkable and the price is right: I think I paid about $17 for the 20 beer sampler. Was the Dunkel...

As i see it...Budweiser and the other beer big-shots are only helping the craft brewing industry. They brew a new beer (like a bock, ale, pale ale, weizen, whathaveyou) and people try it for the sake of brand loyalty. They decide it's pretty good and switch over from one of those "light" t...

I sleep late, or until I've come out of my alcohol induced coma.
I fold the clothes that've been in the dryer all week.
I wash dishes
I watch CNN
If I'm not too sore from the previous night I'll play some guitar.

I go to work at 4pm.

There was this one bar I used to work at with a bartender who has been there for 20 years. One of his stories was that Christopher Reeves(before the accident) helped him chase down someone who robbed a lady. I've never personally had any "famous person" experiences in bars. But, I did meet...
