Cranberry, While I was the one who suggested the Susato whistle I totally agree with your recorder comparison. I'm in the same boat as you are, elanora. I picked up the whistle recently after 8 years of clarinet and bassoon playing. I've already gone crazy for the things and have planned which instruments my summer paychecks will go towards.
