Re: Calling the Geek Oracle - Flash

It seems I need two steps. I found and saved the original file, but can't seem to find a viable converter now to change it from the original .flv format into .avi or something I can play in a media player. This was a personal flash message sent to me by a friend, and I want to save the animation for...

Calling the Geek Oracle - Flash

Is there any easy (and preferably free) means to save a flash animation to one's desktop on a PC?

FS: Gallagher/Robinson half-set w/ accessories

For sale is a Seth Gallagher/Robinson half set, with a few extras. Ebony/Macassar Ebony and brass Concert pitch Keyless (blocked) chanter Drones were added in 2007 from the workshop of maker David Robinson. Great tone, I find ( completely subjectively mind you ) to be a bit more rich that Seth's dro...

Re: Planting Harry Patch

Radiohead recorded a song recalling his experience as well - and released it just prior to Mr. Patch's passing. It's on their site now if anyone's interested.

Patrick Sky is far and away one of the best in the "budget" market. And he'd be one of the closest I believe as well.

Re: Swarf ..?..

We have the same but in plastic and glass when we edge down lenses to fit into eyeglass frames. Some of it is smelly stuff!

Re: chevrolet cavalier...

Drove a 1996 for 10 years. It was sketchy from the get go, but the last three years it was a complete nightmare. I tend to be rather particular about maintaining my car as well. Warped head on the engine, oil leaks that mysteriously could never be tracked down (by multiple shops), bad clutch and num...

Re: Drone Switch problem

Working in an eyeglass dispensary for years, I will say that it is NEVER and I mean N-E-V-E-R ok to use super glue, nail polish, epoxy, contact cement, or any form of adhesive on a threaded item E-V-E-R if you hope to ever be able to remove it cleanly again. A liquid or dry threadlock compound can b...

Re: FS - Seth Gallagher C Chanter

From just about all accounts, Seth's C stuff is his best work. When Gay McKeon was out a couple weeks back, he went on and on about Mark's C chanter. Said it was one of the best set-up's he'd played in years.

Re: Piperlink Salt Lake - with pictures even... :)

Well Pat, you and the rest of the CA bunch are most welcome any time! If you're chicken, you can leave the pipes at home - but if you really want to help us turn this ridiculously over conservative red state a nice shade of blue...or at least ease the liquor laws a bit, we may need to enlist the hel...

They closed up a touch. But nothing burst into flame (including the Irishmen themselves), or played uncontrollably out of tune, or any of that. Weather was great for the week as well. Wish we could have seen a few more of yous from neighbor states!

Piperlink in Salt Lake City

The bunch were in great form last night - great craic! A wonderful evening in a great venue. Wish we would have had a better turn out, but not bad all in all. And apart from subjecting some of the boys to a bit of cerebral edema at the 9,000' Alta/Snowbird resorts...and trying to stab Sean with a sp...
