Re: Best way to propose? :D
he he he - well, with a rock that size - she'd BETTER only want one...I don't think the human frame was designed to carry multiple stones like that around.

Re: FS: Gallagher/Robinson half-set w/ accessories
After several rather interesting conversations with interested parties - no sale was completed on the half-set. So for the time being, I'm going to take them off the market and may revisit finding them a new home sometime in the future. Thanks all!

Re: Best way to propose? :D
Having lived in the area many years (my avatar is a photo taken mere yards from the lighthouse) I can attest that Thanksgiving is very unpredictable, weatherwise. Still, I'd suggest trying to use the lighthouse as your backdrop, if possible, but be prepared for uncomfortable weather. (You'll at lea...

Re: FS: Gallagher/Robinson half-set w/ accessories
The dust is starting to settle after the move, and life is starting to regain some sense of normality. The half set and reed making kit is still available. I'd be willing to let it all go at $2,500 at this point. Would really like it to go to someone who will play and enjoy it rather than having it ...

Re: Obama Nobel Peace Prize Winner
FDR had it right - wake up America, and DO something to bring about the positive changes towards peace we all are far smart enough to see and understand the world needs.

Re: Best way to propose? :D
I dunno - if it's as cold as they say (which is very likely true), it may make the whole proposal so uncomfortable as to be negative. Not really the vibe I was hopin for!

Re: Best way to propose? :D
Well - after talking with my Aunt this afternoon who volunteers at the light regularly, it seems that in the winter months, it's just too cold and they usually close the place up rather tight. So it will likely have to be on the grounds and not up in the light itself (what says love more than a huge...

Re: Best way to propose? :D
LOL! Yeah, probably best not to risk being thrown over the railing - at night - from a lighthouse - into the cold November Chesapeake! hehehe

Re: Best way to propose? :D
I'm not too sure Gwen will care how said residents are evicted: Paper cup to the outside? Broom to web and maker? Huge blowtorch? She doesn't mind spiders as such...but not intimately involved in her proposal night I'm guessing. hehe
Thanksgiving can't quite seem to come soon enough!

Re: Best way to propose? :D
It's a tiny lighthouse. But there are big spiders in it sometimes. I used to have to clean them out of it when I was a kid. hehe And yes, before anyone asks - I'll make sure all arachnid residents are moved out before the proposal night.

Best way to propose? :D
So, after some time now, I do believe I've found my (hopefully soon to be) Mrs. Right! It's been a long hard slog...but after years and years of searching (and finding just about every possible Mrs. WRONG in the state I do believe) I'm ready to pop *the* question! We're taking a trip back East in No...

Re: I hate presbyopia.
No Emm, Sorry - there' no single fix for every condition of the eye. And the quality of the optics we can create in spectacle lenses now are - as we are - imperfect. There is always compromise somewhere. What you have to decide is where to best manage that compromise for your own lifestyle. Surgery ...

Re: FS: Gallagher/Robinson half-set w/ accessories
In response to a few inquiries - the hard case is Seth's standard hard travel case, and no, sadly the clasps aren't lockable. It is a very sturdy case with his standard black exterior and dark forest green fuzzy interior. The reed making tools include shooting block, mandrels, tying rig, saws, knive...
