I checked out the site there Ron, Looks a bit pricey with little mention at all about anything Irish. Seems the Scots have got the run of the place as they do in all our festivals here in Utah also. I'd probably be more interested in just getting togther for a free weekend at a pub somewhere central...

Ron - If you're having trouble finding Guinness, have you tried Sam's Club (Walmart's wholesale club outlet)? We get it there and at a good price, too. Chuck Just as an FYI...at the Sam's club here in Salt Lake (where I work in the Optical dept.) we have Guinness 8 packs for $10 and change. When a ...

EXACTLY Claudine! This is what I mean. If enough of us play or are at least interested...would a board linked to C&F be warranted? Dale what are your thoughts? The thing I like about this forum, is it is so ORGANIZED and EASY TO USE!!! It just seems to be a perfect match to me. Especialy since s...

How about a Rocky Mountain /Western states C&F get together at the Long's Peak Scottish/Irish Festival in Estes Park? It is a 4 day event and always lots of fun, great bands and lots of sessions if it is anything like the last couple of years. Would anyone be interested? Ron ********************...

Just curious to know how many of us whistle/flute players also play uilleann pipes? I know that there are quite a few I've talked to on this board before who have mentioned it. Would anyone besides me find it helpful to start a uilleann pipe board as well? I think it would be a great step in Chiff a...

So Tephillah,

How long has that stinkin' pony tune been keeping you awake at nights wondering just how folks like Paddy and Mary B. are able to pull it off so perfectly?!

And Claudine...what's all this about me being brave?

All my best,

Bri~

StevieJ-when you see a Generation on sale, and try it out, what do you do and what kinds of things do you listen for? Do you play scales or certain tunes? How do you know what can be fixed with a little tweaking and what is beyond tweaking. Well, I'm no Stevie...but I may be able to shed a little l...

I've been working on a set with Tom Billy's jig and The Langstrom Pony for some time now. Not overly complex, just straight and fast with a great lilt or swing to it! I've also been picking away at Colonel Fraiser and The Bucks of Oranmore. Doubt I'll EVER get those two!
