Hi guys ! i weighted both flutes ( same material - blackwood and both 6 keyed); murray's weight is 352 g and lehart's weight is 401 g. about 3th octave; well i play very rare high c or higher notes ( i need it when play high jig or golden eagle horpipe ) but my impresion is that you will achive 3 rd...

hi ! i went in oposite way, from gilles lehart flute to sam murray ....... now, i have both flutes but murray is my main flute. first of all lehart flute is great value for money, great tone and post mounted keywork ..... and very short delivery time ( 2-3 months) and constant quality in production....

some of great belfast flute players ( michael clarkson and desy adams) play now geert flutes ( michael his standard rudall model and desy his pratten model). both of them used to play sam murray flutes before. michael ballati, great player from italy also play geert flute. i tried some of geert flut...

maybe it could be made as one piece middle part. what i know that paul o'shaughnessy olwell nicholson flute also have two piece middle part, so that was reason for my statement. here is also link for olwell 'birthday flute' with two piece middle part some time ago..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Patric...
