Re: Kindle Fire, anyone?

I still like my Sony ereader for reading - it's not a "shiny" screen so I can read it in the sun, etc. Plus the battery lasts forever on it.

We have a Blackberry Playbook. The reflective screen is just not great for reading books on it - it's fine for other things.

I love Frank and Mike! What until they show the episode where they pick a farm that has a emu on it, you'll really get a kick out of that one.

I did Darth Vadar once, but there's no way I'm going to spend the time on that Death Star.

Re: So, is my degree from a college or a university?

Haven't done one in ages, but I usually put: BS, Natural Science, Evening College, University of Cincinnati (1986) AS, Science Technology, Raymond Walters College, University of Cincinnati (1978) It's so long ago (and I'd have to give my maiden name for them to confirm) that I doubt anyone would eve...

. But is it empirically worse than (for example) such 70s dreck as Seasons in the Sun or Billy Don't be a Hero? . I didn't listen to it, because if it's worse than these two, I'll commit suicide. (since The Heywoods were from Cincinnati, we were inflicted to much more of "Billy" than the ...

I hear John Boehner's sneaking over to WVa to do his grocery shopping.
Good - they can keep him there, too.

Re: Canine whistle critics

All of our boxers have "sung" with wind type instrument, whistle, harmonica, NA flute. They could care less about strings (although all of them at one time or another have laid their head on the dulcimer strings). We had one that loved when a friend of ours would come over and play washtub...

benhall - I learned "The Water is Wide" as "Wali Wali" - taught to me by a harpist that studied in Ireland and the UK, and she said it was Welsh. Next time I see Nancy I'll tell her she was wrong. The docent at the museum actually agreed with me but said that the CD was just call...

Re: Difference between Irish and Celtic music?

Ok, from a stupid American point of view...... We never say we play "Irish" music, because they we'll get asked to play "Danny Boy" or "Irish Eyes are Smiling" or other such dribble. We will say we play "Celtic" music because then we can play something influen...

Re: Post Your Doppleganger

I look like my mom, but I'm 4 inches taller, and have much lighter hair (which came by way of her mother). I don't think anyone has compared me to anyone famous, but I have very straight, baby fine hair, and one pointy ear. I'd probably make a good elf from LOTR if I redid my other ear. I can shoot ...

Re: Sports team loyalty/fandom/fanaticism...

I live in Cincinnati. While the Reds (baseball) have their good years, when it comes to football, we have the Bengals. If you don't follow college or high school football, you just about have to choose some other town's pro team to follow. It's embarrassing to say you are a Bengals fan. Most people ...
