Re: Certain School Subjects: What a waste!

Two things that I think that should be included are in the soft sciences. Psychology and sociology. . Yeah. And it's fun when you take a class like "Human Sexuality" and the class triples in size on the days that certain movies are shown! However, when you take "Abnormal Psychology&q...

Re: Certain School Subjects: What a waste!

I took organic chemistry in Evening College. I already had my AS degree in Science Technology, was working full time in an analytical lab. The class was taught by someone not in academia, but who was working at a local petro-chemical plant. It was the absolute WORST course I ever took. He had me so ...

Re: Certain School Subjects: What a waste!

And it's a heck of a lot simpler to write NaOH on a secondary container than "sodium hydroxide solution". You can get away with that? The last place I worked it wasn't considered "safe" to do that because not every one that worked in the building was a chemist so we needed to wr...

Re: Car Stereo System Presets

Tom added a separate amp (Omega) for the bass and got a better bass speaker (Rockford). The amp has separate controls and active filter. High and low band pass. The speaker is a dual coil, but that's so you can drive it from either channel, but he installed a cross over to mix left and right channel...

Re: Certain School Subjects: What a waste!

Depends on what you do for work, I've used the periodic table for many, many years. And it's a heck of a lot simpler to write NaOH on a secondary container than "sodium hydroxide solution". I've basically got most of the Rphrases down for chemical hazards, and of course, now the world is c...

t-shirts (always in XL), stickers, magnets, bumper stickers, can coozies, fans, frisbees, balloons, pens, bag clips, hats, rain ponchos (ok, we were working for that campaign), calendars - especially with the sports team dates on them, and many, many full color hand outs and mailings. Our recycling ...

Re: Happy New Year and...1,000,000

Happy New Year all, Dale, I think I figured out what the end of Mayan calendar is about. It's about new beginnings. On December 21, 2012 and giant vortex will form over Washington and remove every politician and lawyer there from our presence (regardless of party) and we start all over with a clean...

Re: Pet Peeve: Digipak CDs

our process for CDs - we buy it, copy it to a MP3 player, put CD in a album or sleeve, then store the case in a box down in the basement, never to be seen again. I have no problem with alternatives to jewel cases - especially when they are eco-friendly. Also have no issues with no shrink wrap, etc. ...

Re: Post Your 2012 Predictions

I predict that on December 21, 2012, nothing unusual will happen, and the world will still be around on December 22, 2012. Especially in Cincinnati (see previous post). Some of us will come to Cincinnati in March for a week of eating, talking and playing music.... Others will not. That's cool - wha...

I keep mine chained in the basement. I guess a chain is a kind of retainer.
Mine lives on a farm in Missouri.
