Virgil is talking as though he had a very bad experience with his set.I have Rogge Narrow bore chanter agus Concert pitch.THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE IN THE PRESSURE REQUIRED.NONE WHATSOEVER.There is a difference in the sound of course, but ANYONE out there who is having to use more than moder...

No it doesnt sound normal to me!What do you mean by "flapping and flying away"???As for pressure, with 3 drones on then there will of course be an increase in pressure but it will not be very much and after a while you won't notice it.3 months isnt very long to be playing so be patient( to ...

I live in Scotland which is renowned for its desert like climate???A little trick I have learned from Jim Daily for the reed and the moisture problemo is to warm up a little vegetable oil in a suitable receptacle(small ladle will do) and place the reed into it.You will see the water/moisture bubblin...

Hya Elbogo,I think what people are saying is dont rush into this. What I would suggest is PLEASE dont rush into this.I have never heard of Davy Stephenson until this week so I cannot comment. He is not on the Na Piobaire Uilleann data base nor the list of pipemakers but that does not mean he is not a ...

Pillar or Blocks is purely a question of aesthetics.I play Andreas Rogge sets mine are block mounted except for a C# chanter which has C nat block agus Fnat pillar( a later addition) they work fine. The advantage to pillar is metal to metal so no shrinkage or warping(especially with boxwood) to worry...

Instead of futile speculation wouldn't it be easier to email the seller to get a description?Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I think it is a fine looking chanter you cannot tell a lot from the picture nor indeed the other set for sale by Brian howard. What is more important however is DOES I...
