Now that I think of it - that Patsy Brown set that I once owned had the E note on the baritone reg.

Could be Robert Hutton or even Pat Hennelly. The provenance of the set, if available, might assist in the ID.

All I've heard is that to/from NY will be following the most stringent security for quite some time. London is under that same policy.

Years ago, Belfast and Israel were the two toughest places to fly in/out with hand luggage.

Taylor had a set with the E note on the baritone and, on the Touhey set, it is a separate regulator note.

For Comhaltas competition, one must use a 6-hole, 'penny-whistle' style whistle.

Of course, we all know that would not eliminate a number of quality, high end whistles. I think it's more likely they were trying to keep it traditional. Trad is a very big thing in some feis circles. Not that they can really succeed. There are still plenty of fads in Irish music and dance. :) Of c...

All tunes are composed so I don't know if that separates Carolan from the rest of the crowd. Carolan did compose a body of tunes or pieces (you'll hear them described that way most often) that straddles traditional Irish dance music and the music of Europe (Italy). They have been embraced by traditi...

Air parcel service is identical to letter service. Surface, of course, is different all together as parcels travel on the surface - water and land. The postal service has to pile stuff up until they get a full container, then they find a ship for it. Then, in the US, it is trucked to its destination...

Yes, probably to even out the playing field. Years ago, Comhaltas standardized on 6 tone holes for the whistle, thus ruling out folks with a Cnat tone hole, etc.

Great that you know to go to the seller to figure it all out. If there were issues or concerns, you could take them to eBAY.

In fairness to the board, we should be discussing things related to the item - 'what do you make of the chanter?' - and not what is wrong with the seller, transaction, etc.
