Hi Rob

Ohhhh how I envy you... :( :(

Danish box player Anders Trabjerg and banjo player Jonas Fromseier are both based in Galway - I'll get contact details for you. Anders usually performs with piper Lorenzo Morales. I'm sure they can help you.

Human skin works fine - and if you don't like the idea of carrying a piece of your loved one in your pipes case, just cut a hole in your pants. Makes a fine conversation piece too......

Woo - my first post in the whistle department! (I'm one of those surly pipers  )

I bought a Hohner at a local flea market for about 1$ - it's in C, and sounds a bit like a Clarke. Very easy to blow.

My solution to all this is simpler: I leave the pipes in their case if the humidity is lower than about 45 percent ;-) If I did that they would only come out in the summer...... :sniffle: Winter in Copenhagen: 10 - 30% Summer: 60 - 80% - Not really pipe-friendly country here, adjust adjust adjust.....

Hi Bo

Nice looking reg there. There is a few pics on my website of Chris Bayley milling a chanter for a key:

Look under "archive"

- He used a milling attachment for the lathe, and a homemade bit i think.

Good choice Gabriel. Chris makes fine pipes (I just ordered a full set in D from him), has a lot of experience and a waiting list that is not as ridiculous as some other pipemakers. It is a good idea to find a maker not too far away. I will never again buy a set from someone more than a couple of ho...

I've already decided to whom the Beehive set will go in the event of my death provided that my immediate survivors will not want it to play . He's a red-headed fella residing in Dublin and his Da is a good friend of mine. Isn't there allready a Mulcrone set waiting sometime along the road for this ...

And there is Chris Bayley in Redhill, maker of very fine pipes indeed. I had a go at his own (at the time) D-set not too long ago. Chanter was easier to manage than my own Williams stick - sweet and very easy to play.
