Given your hints about your lifestyle, I hardly think you are unaware of the generally accepted colloquial meaning of the term "bashing". I wrote a long response to this, but I've deleted it because I really don't want to get this thread even more OT. Suffice to say the 'colloquial' meani...

No, its still on my list, but I got a new client a couple of weeks back which has taken up 110% of my time. That, and trying to start a new business has prety much clobbered anything extra-curricular.

But I do hope to do it still.

OT: SFO, Lark, Milennium, Labyrinths, Molly and stuff.

Yay! We're back. Thanks Dale, Rich and the Elves! Just got back from a weekend in San Francisco with Ms.Veg. Can you believe that I went to Lark in the Morning and Bought Nothing! Well, bought a noisy thing to take home for Mini-Carne but that's all. I did convince an elderly couple in the shop that...

Well, is it going to happen or not? So, there seems to be some support for the idea. I am going to spend a bit of time working out the best way to implement it -- I want it to be as simple and usable as possible. I have some ideas. It'll probably take me a while to get it up and running, so don't h...

A well-known parable told by Buddha goes like this: A man, crossing a field, encounters a tiger. The man flees, the tiger pursues. Coming to a cliff top, the man grabs the root of a vine and swings himself down below the tiger's reach. The tiger waits. Looking down the precipice upon which he precar...

could we put random stuff (electronics, random body organs, etc) up for trade for whistles? I guess, as long as you're the legal owner... I voted yes, but I rather like this board being used for trading/selling because I'm afraid I won't remember to go to another one. :/ Yes I agree, which is why I...

Interested in a Whistle Trade Board?

Hi all, I recently offered a chromatic harp on the board to trade for a used whistle, and I was blown away by the offers I got. It was hard to choose what to go for given the good stuff people were offering. I know that many of you have whistles and such that you don't use much, because they don't f...

Update: I have decided to go for a fellow C&Fer's Reyburn Low G -- something that I think will make a nice addition. I got some great offers, thanks to all who replied -- it was a tough choice in the end.

Interesting thread, thanks for starting it! Modes can be complex, and there seems to be a lot of confusion about them. Firstly, I agree that the piece as played on a D whistle is probably best notated in G. Also, I feel I must come to the defence of 'classical' music. There is a mis-conception that ...

I thought "wow!", a harp - but it's a strange looking little metal thing...nothing like the harps I used to play. Are harmonicas called harps in America? (We also call them mouth organs as well as harmonicas). Here in the States, "mouth harp" and "blues harp", and &quo...

I don't understand. This is the model I am offering for trade:

Although, perhaps that is why I had such a hard time playing it.
