I think this attitude is part of why Susatos tend to be hated so blackly. The only time you might really want to use a very loud whistle is if the pub is very noisy (the fiddler next to you can't hear you). But just many other instruments doesn't mean you need a louder whistle. There are two proble...

I'm a business owner, and I agree that a month is probably long enough, epecially considering your attempts to contact this person. But I thought it was interesting that no mention or consideration was made in any of these reponses that this person may have developed a medical situation....may no lo...

Re: Susato high Ds

For the money they are the best whistle on the market. Big sound,in tune, loose it buy another, what more do you want from a cheap whistle. I LOVE THEM. I use them all over my CDs so do many other pro's. Phil. I agree. Susatos sound great recorded, they're very accurate, inexpensive, ...and if you br...

I get polishing pads from a local jeweler and they do a good job on both aluminum and brass whistles.

First whistle was a green Sweetone D, purchased at Books-A-Million after seeing "The Corrs Live in Dublin" on TV. Still have it, but don't play it. It's a good whistle for beginners. Actually, I bought three Sweetones that day since they were $3 each...two Ds and a C. So my second...and th...

Why do you need/want a LOUD whistle? + Bill To play in noisy pubs. Same question as Bill....and be careful what you wish for. I've learned a very good rule of thumb from a couple veteran session/pub players that I've found to be true. If you can clearly hear yourself playing whistle, you're probabl...

One thing for sure, you get things done! I think the update will greatly increase the overall appeal of the Rover, and I hope it'll be a big success.

FS....Off topic, but may be of interest

I know that most C&F members have several hobbies and interests oustside whistling, so I offer the following. I've been a professional photographer for over 30 years, but don't do it as a profession anymore. However, I'm still very much interested in photography, and several years ago put the 35...

An internal connector would change the playing of the instrument unless you machined it into the inside diameter of the whistle so as to not change that dimension. This is a tricky operation which would undoubtedly raise the cost of the whistle a lot. Absoutely right...and you should know, as such ...

Suggestion

Interesting idea, but having what appears to be a raised connector so close to two finger holes would seem rather uncomfortable to me. I'd try and find a way to make the bottom connection internal so as not to interfere with fingering. I bought an O'Brein set from a store in Missouri, and one of the...

Depends on how you'll be using it. If you play basically for yourself and/or indoor sessions, etc, the previous suggestions are all viable choices, although I'm not a big fan of Thin Weasels (but that's another story). If you do a lot of outdoor stuff where temp and humidity are always a concern wit...

I have a whole set of Generation whistles, they're all satisfying as far as cheap whistles go, although my Bb i find far too breathy in the second octave, and its not a pleasant sound at all. i'm not sure if this is a fault in the whistle, or just because its a cheap whistle, so in my opinion, give...

Re: How about honest mistakes?

I'm a friend of Sandy's. I have and love whistles she's made. I simply forgot that she was using the name. Nothing sinister, nothing to try to step on her toes or steal her thunder. I've renamed the whistle here, will do so on my website, and will, if I can, correct it in the listing on eBay. I'm n...

I was certainly surprised and disappointed when I saw the subject of this post. Sandy Jasper of Elf Song started her line of "Sassy Brass" whistles over two years ago, which until now was an original product name in the whistle world, as far as I could see. I admired her for coming up with...

I saw it, recorded it, and have watched it a couple times. If it's taken as the title implies, it was fine. All other things aside, it was simply showcasing five Irish women's talents. Period. The show title wasn't "Celtic Woman Does Itrad". Yes, it was a bit Yanni-ish in its presentation,...
