Re: Devondancer update

If we had to choose one thread for Rich to migrate to the new board, this one would be it.

I like lapsang. It's smoky and wonderful. I don't know what a railroad tie tastes like. If I wanted smoky I'd stir my tea with a burnt stick. djm - they're all just "normal" tea, just brand names. I like my tea normal, not malty, smoky, pepperminty, floor sweepingy (Earl Grey), railroad t...

Sorry, I thought you English were more tea-savvy than that. Here you go. djm You would be wrong. The vast majority of us just want a hot strong cuppa that doesn't cost too much. Tetley, Typhoo, P G Tips, Lipton...

I didn't think it was long enough to be a grease gun. If it was a locomotive, you'd think it would require somewhat more grease, wouldn't you? I think this would be used to top up a system, not fill it, like the header tank for a central heating system. I can imagine the driver or fireman giving th...

I have a bunch of you still to find. My first name is Rick and my last name is Slater so if you put them together you easily can find me. I'm in Kalamazoo which is in Michigan in the US. For the life of me I can't remember Ad's last name even though I once sold her a nice bamboo flute in F. I searc...

Thanks, helpful stuff, all of this. OK, there is something I want a good deal, I know how much these things go for and I'm willing to bid a good deal higher than these things go for typically so as to maximize the chance I'll get it. Am I right that it's smart to put in my maximum bid very close to...

I've carried a swiss army knife most days since I was a teenager, the campign variety with small scissors. I like the tweezers and toothpick The Wenger make have better scissors, so I usually have those. Victorinox ones have a rather fragile spring which usually gets bent out of shape and becomes a ...

Copeland Brass D. Beth has one, and it's great but doesn't get played much.

I've had an Overton F, and the unrounded edges on the holes made it uncomfortable to play. I'd have a Goldie Overton, as he rounds off the edges.

I'm on Facebook, I use my real name as I do here. Never been very good at the cloak and dagger stuff.

I'm the Martin Milner in London. I was suprised how many others there are, and we formed a club.

I use Facebook to keep track of friends who live in different timezones.

Do the Sweetheart walking stick flutes come apart into pieces? I can't tell from the pic on their site. If they don't, you can label it a walking stick; surely they wouldn't expect those to be too expensive. Current import policies are a gift above 36 pounds in value will get taxed. Supposedly this...

I think starting fiddle has been one of those things, though...it was something I had wanted to do all of my life. For the first time in a very long time I'm feeling a sense of accomplishment musically. I like to think of myself as an irritating grain of sand that helped start your musical pearl! :...

I've been wondering how a weapon wielded often with two hands and having no hand guard could be called a light saber . Oh, I'm sure they started off with a hand guard, but since the dang things appear to slice through anything, it didn't serve much purpose. The name just stuck even after the hand g...

Probably because you get annoyed by shoddy workmanship. I'm wondering if this is the same mistake repeated seven times. The copywriter and the proofreader both missed something that was immediately obvious to you, and yet got paid as if they were doing a good job. I think some people (you and me inc...
