Re: Looking to learn a new instrument.

Fiddle is the cheapest of those options, and as portable as any of them.

You beat me to that suggestion, but it's not quite the same photo.

I'm still not 100% sure, once you've seen one pair of lady's legs in fishnet stockings, they all get a bit samey.

Re: Whose legs are they?

unless you want a child or two, I'm all out of anything good to give as a prize ;) I got quite attached to this one (sorry about the focus, that's Victoria's camerawork) http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd97/Martin_Milner/IMGP6718.jpg but one this size would fit better in my luggage. http://i221....

Re: Question: bare-breasted festival attire?

Never heard of this as a style of female attire in Ireland, far too chilly & wet.

In Rio, not a problem.

Re: My US Visit

There's more people living there now, but US troops are still losing their lives in an lengthy and costly war on foreign soil to please the politicians, so not everything has changed.

EEK! :o First they wear out Lesley by having her give all her strength to others at the local hospice, and now they're planning more Physio, which always seems to trigger a relapse? If Lesley wants to be useful, how about NOT giving everybody here a heart attack every couple of weeks? Everytime I se...

Re: the forums look funny on my computer

All standard border lines and cells and cell patters were gone but amazingly, each of the smilies had it's own border box of it's own. And nothing was positioned in quite it's standard position. Has anyone got a CTRL +F5 tip to remove extraneous apostrophes? There's three right there. Imagine what ...

Old Superman comic up for sale (not by me)

http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/books/02/26/comic.book.auction/index.html?iref=mpstoryview Not really the best time to be trying to sell stuff like this. At a recent London art auction several lots (some by Banksy) failed to sell at all, and most did not realise their expected price. It seems everyo...

Re: Apostrophe plural's

I've given up trying to correct people. Two colleagues at work do scare quotes, and they're not listening or learning. They're both over 30 so I can't blame recent drops in educational standards. I think they are just stupid. I've also noted a lot of recent word substitutions on other forums - spade...

Re: iTunes vs Windows Media Player

Wow, it never occurred to me that iTunes could burn CDs, handy tip if I need that facility. These days the only use I have for CDs is to rip the tracks into iTunes and then get rid of them. When I next buy a car stereo it's going to have an auxiliary input so I can plug my iPod straight in. I don't ...

I helped an old lady across the road. She didn't want to cross it, but that's beside the point.

Re: Concertina before button accordion?

I'd like to see a picture of this €100 concertina that is supposed to be good for a beginner. It's probably plastic and meant as a children's toy. All the technology that exists in a button box exists in a concertina, but has to be packed in an even smaller space, with more complicated angles involv...

I should add that I don't think kids should be allowed to play and wash in the produce sprinklers, and the manager was wrong to give Red the brushoff - I'd be calling the Health & Safety Inspectors if this happened in London, and the store would get a severe reprimand, might even cost the dolt M...
