Exactly! Blessedly, the horse knew exactly what to do.

Re: question about evolution

I can return this thread to the straight and narrow! That's an excellent example which only proves my point. Look at the eyes . . . they're nearly the same. I'm surprised that you, Nano, of all people, resist the truth. Then again, you did say you were single. Er........ what?? You have a cat.

Re: Cauliflower

Umm, no islands. I thought it was more like mayo mixed with ketchup, but spicy. That's why I thought BBQ sauce would do it, but it didn't. Now that I looked it up, I see it has mustard and horseradish.

Your dinner sounds a lot more interesting than a head of steamed cauliflower.

Where did it go?

Where did the thread from that nice, albeit lost, alternative-instrument person go? I had to rush off to do laundry and came back to post encouraging thoughts, not to mention suggestions for instruments which would involve less trouble AND less of that pesky sheet music, but it's gone. :-? I'll just...

Re: What would you do? (cryptic taunting thread title)

Interesting topic to turn up just when I'm digging into a whole steamed head of cauliflower accented with barbecue sauce.

Cauliflower

I just want to point out that remoulade sauce is excellent on steamed cauliflower, and I am very unhappy to have run out. Barbecue sauce and mayonnaise, when mixed, turn out to be an unacceptable substitute, albeit the same color.

Re: question about evolution

it is my opinion that we are attracted to people who look like what we're used to . . . people who look like us. This is the explanation for couples who look like a pair Portrait of Mr. & Mrs. Lambchop: http://home.roadrunner.com/~mtguru/Pix/Lambies.jpg The attraction definitely wouldn't be the...

Re: question about evolution

However, in a nod to Lamby's orthodonture theory: In the 60s-70s braces were often only recommended for serious cases. Those of us with slight overbites or whatnot were usually left to slide. (not that I objected, nor did my spouse.) We each had siblings who did qualify for braces, and we produced ...

Well, it's a fine time of year to be here! The weather has been delightful. Beautifully sunny, yet cool.

Of course, your guy likely thinks it's sweltering in comparison . . .

Re: question about evolution

i'm not aware of animals fancying one another on the basis of their facial features. I'm not sure how you would get one to tell you if they were, although the bower bird comes to mind. Closer to home, it is my opinion that we are attracted to people who look like what we're used to . . . people who...
