Low G from Thornton Whistles SOLD

I have a Low G that served me well on tour with Celtic Woman and Teada for many years that I'm selling too. It's used but refurbished, well, cleaned up and tweaked for a clearer tone. It's aluminium with a black ABS plastic mouth piece. It has a tuning slide too. I'll throw in an F body to the lucky...

Low D from Thornton Whistles SOLD

Is anyone interested in a Low D whistle? I'm cleaning out the whistle collection and off loadingsome instruments that I don't play anymore. I made this about 7 years ago and played it for a little while but it's been sitting on a shelf for ages now. I'm off loading some of these instruments that I d...

Re: Where to buy whistle heads

Or you could get a box of cheap whistles, tape up 4 of the holes and drill a hole in the back.

Re: A brand new whistley thing from Thornton

Loren, The Lignum that I use is Bulnesia sarmientoi, which is the Argentinian variety. Ive made sme prototype whistles from this lignum over the last 2 years and no sign of any cracking. Mind you, it's a fairly oily wood and moisture resistant so cracking due to wetting and drying is not an issue. H...

CP: A brand new whistley thing from Thornton

Hello everybody here. I haven't been on the forum here much because I've been busy developing a new whistle. So to give a rough description, the mouth piece in made from brass and Delrin. The same as all my whistles nowadays. I use a few different woods to make the body, including African Blackwood,...

Bill Peden RIP

Some of you here may have known the Wisconsin piper, William (Bill) Peden. I'm sorry to report that he passed away Thursday morning from a long illness. I had met Bill at many Tionol's over the years and he was a real gentleman and a fine piper too. You might recognise Bill as the man who wore a bro...

Chocolate Teapot Inflatable dartboard Handbrake in a canoe Tits on a bull Ashtray on a motorbike etc..... If they work that's great and I'd eat my hat. It all really depends on the staple size. You could (technically) put 2 blades of grass on the appropriate staple and she'll go. I had a Pakistani c...

Haven't had a Chocolate digestive in years! The closest you get over here is Hob-Nobs but the dam things fall apart in the tea!

Nice chanters though....

Re: Earliest motion picture of uilleann piper? Edison 1906

I wonder was James Touhey (Patsy's cousin) a left handed piper too? He lived in New Jersey then... It's hard to imagine the piper in the footage not being Touhey. The regulator style doesn't match any of his recordings but that really doesn't matter. A lot of pipers/musicians are that little bit mor...

Re: Selling Flutes - Ebay Youtube etc.

I sell instruments on ebay from time to time and I've never had any problems. There is a lot of rubbish there so you want to make your quality item stand out. The key is to provide a very detailed description of what your selling and plenty of good photo so you look like a serious seller. You want t...
