Re: Studying overseas, your experience?
... And parents of kids abroad need to know that they are so out from under your dominion, you might as well relax and accept it. That's part of the reason we stressed going abroad...mommy and daddy aren't there, a car drive away. Of course, in my cas, I was an 8 hr flight away and had THE best tim...

Re: Studying overseas, your experience?

So did I :-) Seriously, my wife and I wanted our kids to go overseas during their academic career. Who knew if they could do it again in their later years. I think students abroad is...

Re: Who is the Wagner of Rock?
In Wisconsin we prefer the Der Ring des Muskellunge an uplifting tale about a Viking from Minnesota who seeks a ring of power in Wisconsin, only to be defeated again and again by the wily and evil Muskellunge. The female lead was sung by Anna Russell, I'm not making this up, you know! OOOOH Anna Ru...

I use iTalk as the software to record on my iPhone. You record it; synch your phone to the computer and it transfers across. Delete it from your phone and your done. I think you would run out of battery or memory at a concert/workshop. I use an iPod to do the recording at a workshop or tionol concer...

Polishing brass
I'm starting to oxidize the brass keys and bass bar on my full set, which, I think, is a good thing. It means I'm playing it. But, I want to keep the brass nice and brite. I was thinking specifcally of those wipe-y tissues except for metal?? I have thought of that cotton batting that has polish imbe...

Re: What's up with all the college kids and track bikes?
From my perspective, its all about style for the kids. I want to convert my old Raleigh Compettion to a real fixed with fenders and brakes. Riding fixed is great for getting your RPM up. Every time I used to ride at Dominguez Hills, my spin would be so much better.

Re: Blow pipe tube
I got three feet each of the McMaster Carr black and natural 7/8 od, 5/8 ID latex tubing yesterday and have gotten the right length from bellows to bag so there is no kinks in the tubing. Since the tubing is very soft and pliable, you need to spend some time adjusting the length. Other than that it ...
