The tune Tom Creegan used in his class was the "The Famous Ballymote"...from Kathleen Cavanagh. Thanks Kathleen!! Hope your pipe repairs work well!

Blow pipe tube
Anyone know what David Quinn uses for blow pipe material? I saw Tom Klein's set at the Seattle tionol and it looks like surgical tubing. Anyone know for sure? Its flexible, doesn't stain your clothes like a black rubber hose.

Yes they did and having played a few tunes with a fellow fiddle player, its a lot of fun and sonically sweet.SteveShaw wrote:I believe that the fiddle players Julia Clifford and Denis Murphy, in the Sliabh Luachra tradition, would often play the tunes this way.

Re: Fiddle pickup
Sorry guys, Haven't looked here in a while. I did buy a fishman pickup that slips into the crevice in the bridge. Its a bit on the hot side so you need to run it into an equalizer. Other than that it does what I needed it to do, make my fiddle loud against a rock and roll strat. I did look at the vo...

Re: Do you soak your oatmeal?
I use a small slow cooker to cook mine. I set a timer to turn on the cooker around 4AM and I pre-load 1/4 cup of steel cut oats and 1 cup of water in the cooker the night before.
