Re: To Kesh or not to Kesh?
You should learn as many of the 'too common' and 'overplayed' tunes as you like, because despite the complaints, they are the ones that everyone knows and will play. Just try to learn other things as well. The Kesh is a standard in my session as well. It's also generally true that the 'overplayed' t...

While I think it is likely that you will 'outgrow' the flute, that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it. If you travel at all, especially if you camp, hike, or boat, you may find yourself in situations where you want to bring a flute but not an expensive blackwood flute. I have no intention of getting ...

Debate about politics and/or policy = good reading Debate about debate = yawn You're entitled to feel that way if you like. However, I do not find 'debate' that consists of insults, twisting an opponent's words, and repetition of a thesis without further support to be 'good reading'. It is interest...

To be strictly accurate, what I have demonstrated is that you are using logical fallacies in the course of your debate. I consider the regular use of logical fallacy in debate to be a form of deception. . Chris, I haven't tracked through the exchanges you have been having and most of your points lo...

Re: Recording session tunes
Be careful with MD players and the like. Not all have microphone inputs. More to the point, 90% of them -don't- have microphone inputs. The Sony site does give specs for each of their models. None of the ones at BestBuy or the like (storefronts ; online may be different) have microphone inputs. You ...

OutOfBreath himself absolves me even better than I can. I rest my case. It is still a fallacy to believe that a weak or false argument by your opponent proves anything about your own case. I will concede that his words indicate an antagonistic demeanor, and corroborate that he does condemn online d...

Let's see, you quote me, claim I said something that any reasonably bright ninth grader can clearly see I did not say, and offer that as evidence of my dishonesty?! Aside from the ad hominems and prejudicial language, there is an actual point of interest in here. Having gone back and looked, it is ...

I love the way you defend OutOfBreath's vicious bile with your erudite jingoism. You sound like a defense attorney at Mike Tyson's ear-biting trial. The truth is that OutOfBreath's post was an attack -- plain and simple. He was giving his errant reasoning for dismissing me and my sources. He has a ...

While proof that he had read the article at the time and proof that the article was printed at the time are both substantion of his assertion, proof that the article was printed at the time is not proof that he had read the article at the time. Can you prove that you read the story about the Downing Street Memo in your local paper before I posted it here? (emphasis mine) It is not impossible to prove that such a story was printed, but that is not what was demanded. No, that's what I asked for -- substantiation of his assertion. You specif...

I don’t think you’re being honest here. Can you prove that you read the story about the Downing Street Memo in your local paper before I posted it here? It is, quite literally, impossible to prove that he read a story about the Downing Street Memo in the paper before you posted on this site. (Unles...
