Re: TV techie question re: speakers

Oh, as for the sound distortion: While I'd adjudge the tv's built-in speakers to be merely adequate, not great, they perform decently for everything*, it seems, except American Idol. So I'm going to go with the assumption that the sound on AI is of craptastic quality. (Why would they do that? It's ...

The Finepix family is a great choice within your budget. I used Fuji equipment excusively for many years.

Re: TV techie question re: speakers

Either way you go - powered speaker or a home theater system - the volume control on the TV remote will NOT effect the volume of the powered speakers. Maybe, though this is sometimes user selectable via the TV setup menus. I downloaded and read the manual for the TV. Both digital and analog audio o...

Re: TV techie question re: speakers

Whoa! Big one! I thought it was like a 24" for a bedroom or something. The boombox idea is a bit silly in that case. Unfortunately the built in speakers on some flat panels are not great, because they expect you will have a home theater setup. If your home stereo is set up in a way for the spea...

I'm going to bring an ear plug to the jam tonight and use it if my ear starts hurting.

Re: If you had to choose a key...

I like all the options a low A and G would provide. Maybe I'll ditch the low D idea for now and just go for the low A and G. Sounds like I'd be able to play more songs that way, too, since I'd be picking up some different (not D) but useful keys. Thanks everyone! Well considered. And it ...

Re: New Whistle Guy. Hello to All!

Welcome.

I started on a Sweetone. Not a bar choice. I'd say stick with the Sweetone for a month. It's easier to get used to the quirks of one whistle at a time. At leat until you can tell if the random squeek is instrument failure or pilot error. :)

Re: TV techie question re: speakers

It's hard to give an answer without knowing what outputs the TV has. We can get that from an online manual if we knew the make and model. Once we know what kind of output, we will know what you may be able to use. Maybe something you already own, like a boombox with decent sound, or an MP3/iPod spea...

The auction - from which I am donating 50% of the sale price to charity - closes this evening (Sunday Jan 10, 2010, Pacific time zone).

Two other auctions already closed resulting in $145.00 for Heifer International. I like selling useful, but rarely used by me, items this way. :)
