you're all right on all counts...the whole thing is pakistani except the chanter, which is a childress. he was great and gave me all the measurements. Hello, I'm wondering if it's considered poor form to ask your chanter's maker for the reed and staple measurements he uses so I can make my own (or at least try to).

What would be the advantage of molded synthetic chanters over wooden chanters Repeatable chanter design with minimum time to market. Sound can be a bit harsh compared to wood. I would expect a savings if I were buying a plastic chanter, and perhaps that is the niche the plastic chanters could fill....
