Hi Northern Lass, welcome to the forum. Martin Prenshaw has a fairly good reputation, I haven't heard any of his stuff in person, but... Many people here will advise you to have a maker that's geographically close. I agree with this to a point but, if an instrument is that good, distance shouldn't m...

That lad is incredible. I heard him play in Ennis 2 years ago, and he blew the place away. His regulator playing on a slow air he was doing was out of this world.

Tell us more,

I'm very interested in the Gallagher B - I've a full B set and a C chanter ordered from him, I'm heading over to collect it in September.

Haven't heard his flat pipes, but my concert set I got from him this year is superb.

Eamonn only ever made one full set, his own - about 20 years ago I think. He was considering getting into making full sets a couple of years back but last I was talking to him, I think he's decided not to. He makes great chanters and has made a few half sets, but it's mainly chanters. He's a full ti...

Eamonn doesn't make full sets. He's a principal of a primary school and does pipes part time, etc.

He doesn't have immediate plans to go into making full sets as he has enough work doing chanters and practice sets.

wow, that's a nice set of pipes.

does anyone have any views on it? i'm seriously considering putting in a bid, ie. a serious bid, not £300 or something stupidly low.

Hi there, You need to get yourself to lessons as soon as you can - it's the only way. There's good classes for all instruments and at every level on in Monkstown in the Culturlann on Wednesday nights. You'll find the address in the book. The term starts next week I think. I'm not sure who teaches fi...

Tola Custy is a great fiddle player too from Ennis. He's done a few CDs by himself and with others, can't think of the names of them.
