Mine is a mopane one, 2 pieces, and the sound may be extremely different according to the way you blow; I can get very a interesting sound, that I can't get with other flutes. I bought another flute from afamous French maker, ebony, but came back to my Rose flute. I wi...

first tunes

well,

I now can play some tunes, and I would try to enter sessions; but I noticed I never knew the tunes usually played insessions; what would you recommend to learn? What are the "must-know"?

Thanks

cork in headjoint

Hi

I wonder how to adjust the cork piece inside the headjoint of my Rose flute. Does anybody have idea about it?

I've been told it was for intonation, or for tuning :-?

Thanks

Thanks all

According to what you said, I measured the chanter and it appears to be a wide bore, by Joe Kennedy.

slide on D

Hi

I heard recently a tune where there seems to be a slide going from C to high D (D flute of course).
Do you know how make it possible?

Thanks

Hi

Fred Rose make flutes without foot joint; mine is a one piece flute, with head joint and tuning slide. It plays rather loud.

Hello I've got a flute with just "Rose" written on headjoint; it's in mopane, and it's in one piece. It has been played by good players (I'm just a beginner) who said it was quite a good flute. They perhaps were just polite. I think it's a good one, but bot too easy for me in low notes. I ...

wide/narrow bore

Hi all,

I'm just learning UP, and I try to catch information through the forum; one point isn't very clear for me:

how do you determine wether a chanter is a narrow or wide bore?

Thanks
