I don't know of any way other than manually or automatically saving pages. (Pulling it out of the database wouldn't give you anything particularly useful, I don't think, and I don't like the idea of starting to do custom database requests :) ) If you're going to spider, please do it very slowly (say...

lichen quote this post... (The quote talked about the moss.) It's stored in the database as the unfiltered word because otherwise there'd be no way to make a word-filter affect previous posts without going through and changing them all when the filter is turned on, and there'd be no way to ever tur...

Say, does anybody else find this change? Cursor over the email clicky no longer reveals the email address; clicking to email, my Outlook Express no longer applies to the process. Instead, I just get a page with a space for the subject line and a space on which to write text, and a "send" ...

You'd be better off over in the whistle forum or maybe checking out the city guide. This one here's for help using the board software.

Hah, whoops, I didn't even mean to reply here -- I was looking here to see the problem, and then just kept on replying here too! Excuse me while I go cutting and pasting.

It's a good thing I didn't tell you all what I thought of Dale or something too.

WHAT WHAT HUH OH HI Sorry, I haven't been watching here closely lately, I've been off work. :-) There was one day when Dreamhost was throttling our site while they were tracking down a problem on the server, because we're the busiest site there and that's the first thing they look for. That's happen...

Temporary forum outage February 25th, at 3:00 AM PST

The forums will be unavailable for a brief period in the early morning this Sunday, February 25th, at 12 midnight Pacific - 3 AM Eastern - 8 AM UTC while our provider repairs a critical fault in its power distribution system. Their notification and the comments of a bunch of people running around li...

I've got one of those Dixon flutes. One of the joints in mine would seal fine without the cork; the other one needs the cork to seal, so I take it apart when I'm not using it. I don't think there's quite the exact fit you'd get from an M&E. I'd treat it like I'd treat a cork joint on a metal ins...

Oho! I guess I should pay more attention over here. :-) Thanks, everyone! We've also put our honeymoon pictures up, which might be more interesting to you because they're of things that aren't us :-) (And a big public thanks to Andy Daub, the piper in that picture, who did a fantastic job making our...

However, C&F is hosted in Canada..I'm not sure exactly how they interpret the Berne Convention or how much that would actually shield Dale. Incidentally, the forums have been hosted in the US since <a href="http://toolbar.netcraft.com/site_report?url=http://chiffboard.mati.ca">Novembe...

Re: RSS in signature?

I want to display an RSS feed in my signature - a "Quote of the Day," so my signature will constantly change - so every day it will say something new, like "Alimony is like buying hay for a dead horse" or "The way my luck is running, if I was a politician I would be honest....

I didn't notice that per-forum feeds were available, too. I might go that road so that I can skip politics -- which I never mix with whistling :) -- but I'd hate to miss out on Barbershop-Darbhanga or whatever is added next. :D Can you exclude a forum with a URL argument? Please don't go to any eff...

As of this morning things seem to be working again. I don't know if it was the time or a bloglines issue, but things seem to be working now, so thanks for your help with that! One thing I miss from the old feeds, however, is some indication of which forum an item was posted to. It could go in the t...
