Re: Have a listen to this ...

Nice. The guitar on the first track I thought was weird. But I liked it better on the other tracks. Very nice whistling. Fiddle is very good too. A few confusing tune names you got there, eh?

The ipe I had once made a bright yellow sawdust, even though the wood is dark brown. It's quite dense.

Now, people, listen to "Sahtta go na" again. Can anybody here say that they can't feel the backbeat? I don't get it either. Yeah, there's a strong snare beat on 2 & 4. It also has an incessently generic "strum...strum...strum-strummy-strum" acoustic guitar riff. And some ann...

Yes, that's a Serpent by Bill Whedon. The brass Arabic whistle looks like a Bingamon Jubilee.

Besides the SR-71 tie-in, I can think of other great advertising opportunities. Custom graphics depicting, for example, a "Blackbird singing in the dead of night"...or "Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie"...

Here's a recording you can get from eMusic, I site I use and recommend, especially for old-time, old blues, classical and traditional music of all sorts. The usual disclaimer: I'm in no way affiliated with them or profit from their activities. http://www.emusic.com/album/Alexa-Still-Corigliano-Pied-...

Looks a lot like a Water Weasel. This image gives a good look at the ramp and the beak.

I have a list of whistle makers I made for my own use, but if anyone else wants to see it, it's here: http://whistle.JeffLeff.com/makers.html

You have to click on the video to select the player to be "active." From that point on, each click should work normally, until you click somewhere else.

Re: An amazing bassist

Thanks for that -- I agree, a very nice composition, well performed. The piece is Reitba by François Rabbath. You can hear his version of it on his album Carmen! (there's a sample at that link). You can also hear a bit of his playing on his MySpace page -- interesting, atmospheric stuff. Here's more...
