and (of course :D ) Yvon Le Coant. If you've got lungs like a blacksmith's bellows  Trisha Dear, dear  Blacksmiths may bellow, a Le Coant sings. And, of all people, you knowz it. So there. Now ok, it has bad gas mileage. So do flutes. And my Triumph, too. Now, just try an oomph without g...

From what you say of your favourites, low wind requirements are not your top priority. Hence, these should not overlooked, and not only for their competitive price : http://www.sweetheartflute.com/whistles.html For about the same price, this one, used http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=21852 ...

Re: Some Whistles for Sale, updated
Reyburn Standard Bore Low D - This is my favorite Low D whistle. I wrote a review of it a couple of years ago. It is sweet and pure, does not require a lot of air, just perfect. as Low D whistles go. It comes in a padded (on the inside) PVC carrying case with a strap. I am selling it because I huge...

[...] whereas I understand the people of Greece will be paying for this in taxes for years. Given the choice, what would they have wanted their money spent on? Fireworks, cancer research or wedding dresses? Hmmm. This is the whole problem of these costly PR things. Like, I wasn't really serious abo...

I don't like raining on the parade, but did anyone else watch the opening ceremony and wonder if the money would have been better spent on famine relief or cancer research? Now really! When, for the same money, you can: - keep Tommies one more day in Iraq - send up half a communication satell...

Re: Upside-down Fipples
So gravity works in our favor here. Now my question is, has anyone tried this on small whistles? (High-D, Low-D, etc) Maybe it would help reduce clogging. Sorry fo repeating myself, but I did with an Abell A/Bb set. It did avoid juice build-up, flowing directly underneath the whistle. Because of th...

BrassBlower: it did sound similar (Loo Reed) in me head when I wrote the header. But you name a good standard to work on... Glauber: yeah, really... (btw, you forgot to ask for harmony, with A, and G whistles to break that unisson (unisession?) Also, if sessions admit both tenor banjos and mandoline...

Thanks, dlovrien. Your comment on the sluggishness of the air column vs big/small pads is interesting. I've tried playing an alto at our closed-door slow session, with a towel stuffed into the bell to mute it. It's too loud unmuted. It's not that easy, though, if you're trying to play the piece by e...
