FS: Sindt C and Blue Overton (Goldie) High D
I have these two rare whistles which I have reluctantly decided to part with. Short story is that I very rarely play whistle at all, don't get any work doing it, and could use the cash more than having two rare whistles that one or two other players would be really happy to own sitting in a bin in t...

Re: Oil for wooden flute
...I wouldn't want a polymer coat on the inside of my instrument... A polymerized vegetable oil finish is not the same thing as the petro-chemical polymer, not even in the same ball park! It takes many many many coats of raw linseed oil to form a barrier and it takes week to fully dry, over the cou...

Re: Oil for wooden flute
Flax or linseed (they are the same thing) oil is absorbed pretty quickly by woods and penetrates very deeply, perhaps someone more science minded than myself has some research to back up whether it is absorbed better than almond. Linseed will polymerize (dry and harden without fully evaporating) whe...

Olwell Bamboo G SOLD
Offering this rarity for sale for a bit before I put it on ebay (if I don't get any decent offers). Got this in a trade a little over a year ago but just spent a bunch on a bouzouki and, as cool and fun to play as it is, I just don't need it. Everything you would expect from a flute like this in exc...

Re: John Coltrane on Irish flute
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, lots of keywork involved, the tune is essentially in Eb minor so it requires a lot of notes outside of the basic scales.john wrote:i enjoyed the clip - i take it that a lot of keyed notes were needed?

John Coltrane on Irish flute
I just posted a video of John Coltrane's Naima to my youtube channel and thought I would share it here! This is actually the first in a series of videos I will be posting of traditional and cover material on various instruments. I have some trad stuff on flute waiting in the wings so I will post lin...
