Re: Dave Williams flute for sale on done deal!

That price list is cool...and so cheap! Jayhawk
Yes, I bought a 3/4 D set of pipes with a tenor regulator for £480 from Dave in 1980.

Re: Dave Williams flute for sale on done deal!

I have a four key Williams flute made in 1982. It has wider rings than the done deal flute, salt spoon keys in wooden key blocks, separate right and left hand sections, and a separate foot joint. I bought it new and paid £120 if I remember correctly. It's a very good flute. Nial Keegan also plays a ...

Re: Left handed UPs

Interesting question. I'm left handed, and I play the pipes and flute "right-handed". Have no problems playing a "normal set of pipes. I also play the guitar "right.handed". I do however have to use "left handed" tea/coffe cups, screwdrivers, hammers, pencils etc.

The Rainey's and flute playing?

Listening to the Rainey's CD recently I wondered if there are any field recordings of their fiddle and flute playing archived anywhere? Prehaps Knowland was the only person to record them? One of the brothers played the flute, and it would be interesting to hear the style of flute playing. There are...

Just to say that the serial number of this flute according to G&H is 4417. There are repaired cracks in the head joint, barrel and three of the key blocks have been repaired.

Re: Suggestions for 8-key D flutes

Andre I'd suggest buying the eight-key Rudall & Rose flute now on done deal.ie that is for sale. It's a good price, and the seller is knowledgable and trustworthy. Also Ireland, like Spain, is a member of the European Union, so no problems with import duties, tax etc. Sorry, just looked, and it'...

Welcome to Chiff & Fipple Mizmar! Never too late to start playing an instrument. Whereabouts are you based in Norway? We have Norwegian friends who play Irish traditional music and live in Trondheim.
