At a glance , the set looks reasonably well made and though it is not a Froment set , it seems playable and in good shape . I am looking at this as an egronomic issue . It is good to have the pipes " fitted " you your bodys specs , and this can easily be done by an expert pipemaker . I happen to have long arms , and a slim waist , for me , I need to shorten the bag neck , and play the bag high up under my arm ....

An advantage that the flat sets seem to have is that the cane does tend to hold up better If the reed is made more narrow . " More better "

I like cane for drone reeds , but the composite reeds are worth a look , If you want to have one less thing to worry about , or for spare drone reeds .

My take on dry climate reeds is to make them thicker so that the cane will be a bit stronger where it tends to react to the dryness in the air . i.e. along the sides and at the lips of the reed . To still have a reed that has good tone and playability , I will use a softer tube of cane , If the cane...
