thumb rests

Susato includes them on all their whistles. They must be on to something. I don't need them on the upper keys. I do find them very helpful with the larger whistles - from G on down to Lo D, and sometimes an A or B if the tube is very large. My hands can concetrate on reaching the holes without conce...

good advice

I appreciate all the good advice. When I was playing the Humphrey today I WAS in a different room. Maybe I'll try it in the tiled bathroom next! Also a little less clumsiness with my fingers makes a big improvement.

Humphrey

Not ready to sell these - just looking for advice on how long to work on a particular whistle before your own shortcomings are not keeping you from getting the most out of it. Sorry for the confusion. I was actually playing the Humphrey today and I as I'm getting better it's sounding better to me. I...

FS Dixon aluminum Eb and advice wanted

I'm looking over whistles to sell bought in my initial whistle buying frenzy 6 months ago. (Does WhOA normallly strike so soon?) Selling a Dixon aluminum Eb - they go new for about $49. I'll sell for $35 and ship to US. I have an OBrian Eb/C set that covers my Eb needs. I'm also looking at some othe...

Both Mack Hoover and Gary Humprey make some really nice low Gs.
They will work with you on specific needs. Worth checking out.

Flute in A?

This is my 1st time on this site. I have played Bohem flute for some time and recently got a nice rosewood Sweetheart. Now this might seem like an odd question but does anyone know of someone who builds flutes in A? I've seen Gs and Fs and even Ebs but not an A.

I use them on my lower key whistles - G on down to D. Even bought some extras to put on my non-Susatos(hope I haven't broken some whistle code of ettiquete) . I find it lessens fatigue for me. It might be from playing sax but they really work well for me. Did I mention that I have some artristis?

Thanks Bill Whedon. I'm still pretty new to all this whistles stuff -just started last September. BUT I can share from years of playing trumpet & sax with guitar players. Because of their preferance for keys like E and A the transpositions for brass required me to gain proficiency in keys like C...

Hi - I'm the new kid on the block(at my age I love saying that!). I have on Ebay a Black Diamond C and an engraved Susato A. I will also soon be selling a Dixon high Eb in aluminum. I've found with Susatos you can also overpower the guitar players when you play with a rock band - so you can now talk softly and carry a big (sound) stick! But hey, I just joined and this is my 1st reply- why do I think my opinion matters?
