Re: Sad news - Dave Williams

[Thread revival]

I can't believe that it is nearly 10 years since the passing of Dave Williams. 10 years next month.

Re: FS: Dave Williams practice set (Ebay)

Did not sell. Hard to imagine that a like-new Willimas practice set is worth less than half of what was paid for new. I guess I will just keep it.

Re: FS: Dave Williams practice set (Ebay)

So I am surprised by the decline in interst in Willams chanters. There was a time when his pipes were bid up and hard to find as they weren't offered for sale much. The economy weakness doesn't help I suppose. I have relisted it and have shaved more off the price. If it doesn't sell this time, I wou...

Re: FS: Dave Williams practice set (Ebay)

I purchased the practice set new from Lark in the morning in September 2007. This was after Dave had already passed away. Lark in the Morning was selling Dave's practice sets for him until he tragicly passed, and no one knew that they still had this last set in inventory. They were selling them for ...

FS: Dave Williams practice set (Ebay)

Dave Williams made uilleann pipes practice set in D concert pitch. It is has a brass top and bottom ferrule with imitation ivory. I think that the wood is ebony, but not fully sure of that. The bellows has built in leather pads on the inside and the outside so it is very comfortible to play. It has ...

FS: Copeland Silver whistle in C (Ebay) SOLD

Copeland Irish whistle pitched in C. Solid Sterling Silver. Tunable. No dents or scratches. Has hardly been played since I bought it new. Very sweet sound. Comes with original velvet bag/case with draw string. Number 3187. I don't think that these are made any longer. I bought it new in 2002. http:/...

Re: Ebay Items

I withdrew the b chanter because someone has offered me a 3/4 wooff c# set and has agreed to knock £1500 off the price of the set for the b chanter. eBay rules state, as pj has said, that any item may be withdrawn. This is allowed up to 12 hours before an auction ends. Indeed, I checked and you are...

Re: Ebay Items

This guy sold almost 500 items and bought over 800 on ebay (look at total rating of 1166). Clearly an experienced ebayer who should be aware of the rules and being trust worthy. Ebay listings and bids are actually legal contracts, though hard to enforce unless one wants to go through the trouble. I ...

Re: Ebay Items

So you pulled down your B chanter despite having bids? Sounds like a departure from EBAY rules. tisk tisk. Why didn't you just put a reserve on it if you wanted a certain minimum price instead of trying to save $4 bucks? Also, your best bids come at the very end.

Re: Eammon Dillon Benefit in New York City 12/1

It is not a very large venue, so I would advise buying a ticket in advance. See the web site info in my note.

Best of luck.
