Re: Chris Bayley in Hospital again
I knew he was having issues. I was talking to him almost daily and then he disappeared and was conserved about him. Glad to see all is ok. Get better Chris and I wish you well. Seth Hamon

Re: ad on gumtree
You never know. I think it was Ken McLeod that said their was a lady who posted a classified ad saying she had a set of pipes and they checked it out and it was a Kenna set. I forget who it was, Maybe Ronan Browne or Ken himself.... I forget. I'm recent proof that it's best to follow up on these thi...

Re: Ginsberg Egan C plans
If you start looking at Kenna's work, don't just go by Ken McLeod's measurements, but look very closely at the measurements taken from the putative Mealy reamers discussed I need to get in touch with Joe Kennedy as he has copied this set and from what I've heard it came out quite well. Richard Evan...

Re: Daye Half Set for Sale. Maybe.
Their have been two on the Dunsire for sale in the past year that were used. One was $1100 and the other was $1700. I would see David's website and see what he is charging. Seth

Re: Estate Auction Pipes - with pictures
A few folks have asked me to let them know when I plan to sell certain pieces of the lot that I received. Since I can't go through and re-read all the emails and PM's I received then I will just post here. I have received an offer on the two flat chanters, non Taylor style chanters, that can be seen...

Re: Ginsberg Egan C plans
The chanter was tampered with, so head's up there. Brad Angus's first two full sets were after Ginzegan, the first he made for himself and subsequently turned into a lamp...#2 I got in trade, for a wood lathe and some other toolery I bought when I fancied the notion of making pipes myself. The chan...

Re: Ginsberg Egan C plans
I ran across them on the NPU webpage so it seems that they still carry them. I've read previous threads but none seem to address whether anyone has made a working set from the plans. I'm guessing since its been a decade since it was last discussed that maybe someone may have attempted the plans. The...

Re: Estate Auction Pipes - with pictures
Cast aluminum would also explain the mystery of how in God's name they made that thing. I was trying to wrap my head around the idea of how they could solder chimneys in between interior and exterior pieces made out of sheet, which would be daunting enough; but how to fashion the key block shapes o...

Ginsberg Egan C plans
Has anyone made a set of working pipes from the Ginsberg C Egan plans. I have a Michael Egan chanter that I can copy but I'd like accurate drone and reg measurments. Cheers, Seth Hamon

Re: Estate Auction Pipes - with pictures
The round knob on the one popping valve with the brand name is pretty amusing. Sanford and Pollow made bicycle gas lamps. Hmm, I wonder if it's a coincidence that Sanford & Pollow was based in Chicago, and so was Pat Hennelly, a noteworthy maker of sometimes-fanciful but always Tayloresque pipe...

Re: Estate Auction Pipes - with pictures
Estate auctions, like standard auctions, are typically administered by professional auction firms who catalogue the items and organise the sale, as well as conduct the auction itself, taking commission on the sales. Just look up local auction houses in your area. Many of them will post their catalo...
