i play an Arhpa practice set. It 's a "Rowsome" style of making, and as PJ said in a previous discussion, it seems to be a loud chanter.

Hello,
I'm new in uilleann piping, and I would like to know how is it possible to recognise good drones.
And I would be please to know your feeling with your own drones, that will probably help me to make a choice !
Cheers,

I have a practice set and i would to upgrade it to a half set soon.

hard reed

I just received a practice set, but i wonder how hard should be a chanter reed ?
do i need to squeeze a lot the bag to get the second octave ?
and if my reed is too hard, how should i make it sweeter ?
Tell me your own experience please, that will help me a lot !
Cheers,
