Jim: 4:30 by the South entrance trees sounds good. Third day into the Fest - who knows what I'll be wearing - my C&F T-shirt if I can find it. I'll be in the same area Sunday Morning. Canned goods are an excellent price of entry! Jeff: I'll probably drop by the session too at least to listen. Ma...

I'll be there as usual, probably all four days, though I do tend to get too tired to stay all day and night Sunday. Jim, Sunday Morning is always a great time during and after the Mass. I'm also game to try something later (4-4:30) Saturday if anyone is interested. Lot's of folks from the boards are...

I decided to start playing whistle when I retired at 62. Now, almost 6 years later and I haven't made a lot of progress but I'm having fun trying. Last year I started torturing a mandolin. I'm trying to decide what to take up at 70.

Woah! Zombie thread. Lots of faces here that we don't see anymore... Place is full of ghosts and not a one mentioned Milwaukee. Irish Fest and the Cultural Center always have something going year round, Currently 3 or 4 sessions a week, never tried to buy a whistle but most local music stores carry...

Although I'm not familiar with 'feadail', I do know that my dad and his brothers were definately into mouth whistling and vaguely that their father and uncles were too. I'm sure they were merely imitating what they heard from their elders and I'm sure they didn't realize there was an Irish name for ...

I agree with all the above. Too bad you're not closer to St Louis this weekend. He usually sets up on several cafeteria tables with at least one of every type and key of whistle he makes displayed. If it isn't on the table, he has it somewhere in the stacks at the back. Shoppers are free to take one...

I'll be there probably all four days. Weatherman is a little gloomy right now about Friday night and Saturday morning, but I'm not a true believer in those folks. Besides whats a little rain when there's that much great music available. I'm going to try my new knees on the 5K walk Saturday morning s...

Hmm, deja vu all over. Just this morning I realized that my favorite whistle just wasn't sounding or acting right. A quick inspection revealed something that would make a plumbers heart sing. Things sure can build up when you don't pay attention.

Having haunted E-Bay for a while and recently bought a cheapy mandolin, I can identify with your problems. I've been impressed with FOTW ads and web site and if I buy mail order they would probably be my choice. Unfortunately I have no direct experience with them. I do like that they advertise set-u...

Belated happy fiftieth Dale. Last weekend for the third time in three years, I was stopped at the Milwaukee Irish Fest wearing my fading C&F T-shirt, and asked if I was Dale. Up till now I haven't known how to take that question. Now that I realize you are 16 years my junior, I guess I should ta...

Sorry, my new knees didn't make it Sunday after the three full previous days wandering about the grounds. I was there Saturday, but no one made it. I missed seeing the usual folks but it was a great event. Maybe someone would like to try organizing some sort of a meeting of area C&Fers later in ...

How well did you fare?

It was Saturday night at the Milwaukee Irish Fest. Music, great Irish music was being played by Internationally known groups and musicians everywhere on the grounds. I joined a handful plus of players in an open session not for from the big stages, Several of us were sitting there, whistles in hand,...
