Actually that sort of thing happens all the time on Ebay. I have gotten a "2nd Chance Auction" e-mail from Ebay on several occasions stating that the high bidder was either invalid or there was some other reason why the high bidder defaulted. I have gone on to purchase the item with no pro...

I have a Susato A and a Whistlesmith A. I like Susato whisltes very much and I have many of them but I do not like the A whistle. The lower tone holes in the Susato A are the largest I have ever seen which makes it difficult to play even using the piper's grip which I am accustomed to. On the other ...

You can wrap the tube with a couple of turns of plumbers teflon tape and that should take care of it.

It isn't too loud. I had a Kerry low D and it sounded more like a recorder type sound. The Alba sounds more like a Bohem type Flute. When I say Bohem I am referring to a standard metal flute with metal keys, the type played in bands and orchestras and not a wooden flute as many Irish flutes are. It ...

I have two Alba's, a low C and low D. I guess mine are just standard whistles as they say nothing about vibe. They are identical in manufacture being large bore brushed aluminum pipe. Quite attractive but nothing out of the ordinary. Very good whistles. Loud.

Without getting a good look at the fipple it is almost impossible to tell what make whistle it is. I do have to say that the song was hauntingly beautiful and I am very glad you brought it to my attention. Thanks.

Thanks for your help. I probably won't order it judging from what I've heard from everyone. I had hoped it might be a pretty decent A whislte for a little bit of money. I wish there was a way to try before you buy.

Whistlesmith Whistle Help

Does anyone have experience with a Whistlesmith whistle? I have a Susato A that requires the pipers grip in the right hand and some no-name A I got cheap from Ebay that isn't in tune with itself. I wanted to get an A that doesn't require the pipers grip to play and Whistlesmith says that the tone ho...
