Tedrow 30 Button Zephyr C/G Anglo Concertina For Sale

I'm selling my 30 button C/G Tedrow Zephyr. It's a delight to play - responsive, in perfect tune, light, very fast and precise action. Very pretty gold-tooling and lovely bellows papers. Overall it's like new. It comes with a waterproof semi-soft rubberized case. The new price is $2,500 with a two m...

I use a blend of glycerin and hydroxyethyl cellulose. It gets slippery at times but it does stay nice and shiny.

It's interesting, isn't it? A player who is in his comfort zone can play a million miles an hour and still play in a relaxed, easy style, conveying an intimacy with the tune. A player playing slowly, but still out of his comfort zone, will sound rushed and tense. The point is that it isn't the speed...

Yeah, well, Mr. S.A., I'm not talking to Matt Molloy, now am I?
I'm talking to you, bro', so watch it.
Slow down...

Bump. This thread, emphasizing the importance of playing slowly, is too good to lt die. Start every tune within your comfort zone. Only play as fast as the most difficult part can be played. Speed of playing is not a virtue. Playing too fast makes a tune ugly. Relax - speed makes you tense. Tension ...

Matt Molloy played The Moving Cloud in G.
Isn't this normally played in D... though fiddlers like to play it in C?

Re: The Monaghan Jig Those who haven't heard it should listen to it right now. Well done, Rob. As usual. Your tone is clear and gorgeous and your rhythm is impeccable. I loved hearing you play this tune. That said, I do wish the guitar were a bit more Cahill like. More restrained and the chords not ...

Right, that's what I heard, John. Just reporting, not saying he's right (though I expect he's right about himself). As I recall the source was David Levine. He can't recall ever saying anything like that. John Kerr is a friend of his, although he's no David Levine either. He isn't a bad John Kerr t...

Charlie Toddlers laugh about 400 times a day, adults about 15. What happens to us? What happens? What do you think happens? We have to go to work, that's what happens. If you're not careful, this is the sequence: birth-school-work-death. But take heart. I am back up to 243 times a day and there's m...

All I ask is that the forum not be boring. Having people post clips of their playing makes this a much more interesting place to be.
More like a session and less like a graduate seminar.

I certainly don't mind people taking a poke at me. I am from Brooklyn, after all. All I ask is that the forum not be boring. Having people post clips of their playing makes this a much more interesting place to be.
