It's a bit of that and a bit of cultural appropriation. (In all fairness, this happens with most cultures.)

I do not think that he will get a sound and a playability that are THREE TIMES better. This all depends on what you mean by three times better. I don't see how you can compare this arithmetically placing objective increments upon qualities that are entirely subjective to the individual concerned. T...

1. Humidify at 60% or more. This is good advice up to a limit. I recently found one of my stored flutes covered in specs. As I recall, the presence of mold is a function of humidity, temperature, hygiene, and air circulation. How about some details, Guinness? I'm sure most of us would like to know ...

The second one is a Dixon Trad, isn't it? I'm guessing she used it so she could tune it to play with the Gen. To me it looks like a MK3 Feadog green head on a nickel tube. Okay, I agree it's probably not a green Gen, but could it be a Cillian Ó Briain? "Muireann plays a Martin Doyle flute and ...

The "spit" is actually just destilled water which is caused by the breath condensating. Yes but, 1) If someone accidentally drained his flute into your freshly poured pint, would you still drink it? 2) Why do people find inhaling the condensate (which I do) disgusting? 3) Why are we advis...
