I think a MK will not be available for the summer, or you are very lucky finding someone to renouce his place on the waiting list in favor to you. I do not know the situation of availability of the...

Maybe jigs are easier to pick up (not so sure though) but are they really easier to play? Personally I doubt it, good jig playing is rare enough, getting the juxtaposition of phrasing and rhythm right is a subtle thing. Thank you Peter your post consoles me. I felt just "wrong wound" as w...

Speaking of Clare, The only whistle/tutor/CD combo I can find at a music store within a 100 miles of me is one by Clare McKenna, it comes with a Clare High D Nickel whistle, learning book and CD with all the exercises and tunes. Has anyone heard of this lady? Only other option will be buying off th...

Well, that was the interesting part. The wall and bore dimensions for the pipe I was using were close but not equal to Guido's measurements. I expected to see some variation due to this but the differences must have canceled out. Pete Either this, or the differences are small enough just having no ...

Definitely the lifestyle and wellness stream has been caught up by marketing managers of food selling companies. The term "function food" has been created, as if food had not a function before. I find the advertising also really boring and ridiculous. When I see it I always ask my wife: Di...

I bought a $2.50 bamboo whistle once from an international shop and it had bugs inside. I didn't notice until I started playing it later, when I found dead bugs sticking to my fingertips, and more in my lap. They started the trip from India but didn't finish it. I took a moment to pity them, then r...
