Really, I've gotten great results with a Delta midi lathe. I would still some day like a metal lathe for making tools, though.

Re: silver

For the sizes used on pipes, you usually have to make your own from sheet stock. Most makers of silver tube make small sizes suited to jewelry. I wish I could find nickle silver tubes. No one seems to make those. :sniffle:

Yahoo groups amateurbagpipemakers is a great place to start. Take the time to read through the archives and you'll have most all of your questions answered.

I've had some pieces of cocobolo sitting in my wood rack for years, but have been afraid to turn them. Does anybody know of a relatively safe way to test of you have an allergy to it? I was thinking of filing some dust from it, putting it on a band-aid pad, sticking it to my inner arm and checking f...

What key is that in, and what do all those drones and regs sound like? It must be a workout to play.

David Power Email

Does anybody have a current email address for David power? He called me twice yesterday, but my phone service was on the fritz and we kept getting disconnected before I could find out what he wanted. :x :x :x If someone could p.m. me, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Marc Bourassa

I guess I can say it now. I was honored to do the cover art for the C.D. Many emails and long phone conversations proved what a truly nice man David is. I miss the talks.

Get better soon. Time for a new dust mask. All best to your family as well. It's so hard to see a loved one in pain when you can't do anything to help.

If it's sort of an unstable growly sound, try a 3/4" x 1 1/2" piece of cardstock. Roll it into a tube and shove it up the bottom of the chanter into place between the bottom two finger holes.
