Re: Smart brand whistle
[ Revival ] In this case, a direct (CAT scanned?) rip-off of a specific American product design and price undercutting the original with cheap East Asian production is bound to raise eyebrows. Are you suggesting that these (or at least their molds) are 3D printed? I can't think how else they would ...

Re: Streaming TV?
Next best thing is maybe to buy a used PC at the Goodwill and put it in a closet to do the DVR function. Your Goodwill must be nicer than mine. Interesting that there are so many problems developing a self-contained unit. I think I could do the same thing with a RaspberryPi, a harddrive and a Haupp...

Re: Streaming TV?
Oooo, they do seem to have a DVR version that supports external storage. Still would need an HDMI port for me, though. Oh wait, you can stream to a Roku to get it on the TV. That's a good idea. https://www.simple.tv/roku The one I have isn't [/a DVR at all. It's just a dual tuner that connects to t...

Re: Streaming TV?
I have a little box by a company called Silicon Dust. ... It's a DVR that uses your PC's for storage. I used to do that with a Hauppage Win-TV USB device . I like that Silicon Dust did theirs as a network device and added multiple tuners. But does it have HDMI output? If so, and it allowed using yo...

Re: Streaming TV?
It's going to take a long time and a lot of bureaucracy before it's anything more than a supplement for cable. You can always get any local channels that you can receive over antenna. But to have DVR functions for those, you would need a box with a tuner in it, like a Tivo. Channels with a long hist...

I didn't see this until too late. But I found the show you were on: http://blogs.kusp.org/continentaldrift/ You can listen to the latest show there (probably until next Saturday). I found the first song (Rug Muire) around 47 minutes in, after an interview. Lovely stuff. I love few things more than C...
