Re: You know you've been playing wire harp too long...
Well, fluorocarbon fishing line is kind of popular for ukulele.. I haven't tried but it's supposed to be good (there may even be a preferable fishing line vendor). Not sure if that applies to harp strings too, but who knows ;) -Tor Wire harps are strung with brass or bronze (or occasionally silver ...

Or the tackle shop for nylon fishing line... Bob OK, I'll bite: What do you use nylon fishing line for? So far my forays to the hardware store have included buying dowels (for toggles), a vice grip, needle-nose pliers/wire cutters, and a foldable stool for resting the harp on when I'm traveling and...

Re: New album from Mary Mc Laughlin
There's a new clip up on the site. It's a cool arrangement combining the traditional Irish Christmas carol "Rug Muire" with a Latin "Salve Regina." I'm looking forward to singing this in the concerts this year! http://d2oadd98wnjs7n.cloudfront.net/medias/406179/files/201208242233...

Nope...Mary layers the vocals, so they're all actually her own voice. Makes for an interesting texture!Nanohedron wrote:Nice stuff!
Might I detect your voice among the backup vocals?

Re: Installing harp sharping levers
Thanks for the help. This harp is designed to accept sharping levers. The key of C really is fine for me, but I was thinking I might use it in church sometime if I could switch it into F too. I live out in the country, not near any large city, so I don't think there is any local shop to have it don...

Re: Installing harp sharping levers
I have a harp. It's a pretty thing. Sits by the front doorway of my house. But it doesn't have any sharping levers. If I wanted to add a few levers, so I could play in another key or two, would this be a difficult task? I reckon sending it off to have them installed would be a little expensive (and...

Re: A death in the Family
What sad news! The story of these two incredible people surely has touched everybody's heart. It might be a slight solace that these two, who were so devoted to each other, died together. I think it would have been very difficult for one of them to stay behind alone. They won't be forgotten. I was ...
