WTB: Several Flutes and Whistles I Want to Buy
Hi. This is kind of a wish list of instruments, but if you happen to have any of these you'd like to part with, let me know! Flutes (preference for short foot) Casey Burns Flute - any model in D except the Folk Flute (already have one). I might be able to afford a keyed Burns flute. Olwell Flute - a...

FS: LIR Whistle - High-D SOLD
I have a brand new LIR Whistle in High-D for sale. I just got it and it's barely been played...just for a few minutes to check it out and see if I liked it. Unfortunately, it's not as good as my goto whistle (Oz Visor). It's really well made and has a very easy playing 2nd octave. I paid 100 Euros a...

WTB: Oz Whistles
As the subject states, I'm interested in buying at least one Oz whistle. I'm mainly interested in the wood Vambrace models, but would also consider the Delrin Visor models. I've got a high-D Visor that I love...best whistle I've ever played, so I'm very curious to try a wooden version. I wouldn't mi...

Re: WTB: High C Whistle
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions! I am considering ordering one of the Carbony whistles but wanted to see if I could find anything cheaper used first. I've also tried a Reyburn many years ago and liked it, so I'll look into that as well. If I get a Carbony, then I have to decide between th...

WTB: High C Whistle
Hi. As the subject states, I'm in need of a high C whistle. I'd prefer something "higher end," but feel free to message or email me what you've got. Here are a few of the brands I'd be most interested in: Humphrey Session High C Whistle (Journeyman or Stealth) Carbony High C Whistle (or le...

Re: Oz Visor D *No longer for sale*
I can't seem to edit or delete my original FS post, so updating here. I've had the whistle out taking photos and playing to respond to questions, and have decided I'd probably have seller's remorse if I let it go, so I'm no longer selling. One note... While I had it out with my other high D whistles...

Re: Whistle Tune Composition
...writing my own music...using a random melody generator... Sorry but isn't that self-contradictory? Well, I was coming at it from a Surrealist viewpoint ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrealist_techniques ), which is something I also do with writing poetry. I use random word generators to gener...

Re: Whistle Tune Composition
So how about trying a simple binary form taking the first line as your A section, repeating that, then trying to match it up with a repeated B section where you've got more contrast of melodic material? Yes, although I was thinking the other way around...it kind of sounded like the B part of a tune...

Whistle Tune Composition
Not sure if anyone else will actually be interested in this, but I thought I'd share. I was bored the other night and decided to try writing my own music. I had trouble getting started, so I generated several random melodies using this random melody generator: https://www.link.cs.cmu.edu/melody-gene...
