I attended to a workshop with Niall Keegan once. He told us that we should to play in any key using a 8 keyed flute in D, including tunes in Eb. One of the exercises he use to suggest is to play a reel in D and then try to play it in all the keys (Eb, E, G, A, etc) as the best way to learn the keys ...

Matt Molloy is very lucky. Thanks to the existence of ornaments he can reach the high notes decently, otherwise it would be impossible for him to achieve it.

I highly recomend anyone to listen the band DRD. It´s an amazing blend of fiddle, flute and guitar sound. By the way, Borja Baragaño is the flute player of the band, a top class flutist.

Oh my! I own a Wilkes, Rudall model, but I want more..... Just if Ihad the money! I have been listening Veillon recording "Er Pasker" during the last 3 weeks a lot of times. This CD is recorded mainly with this same flute. Terrific sound, terrific tone, terrific imagination, terrific music...
