Re: Hello Again

Hi David It is good to hear from you again. The time went by fast. The C# as a practice set was probably a good choice. Narrow bore is a bit more pleasing to the ear. Were the drones that you tied in for C or D? I recall having some discussion before you left, and you were going to use drones either...

Re: Piping Limericks

Here are a couple of piper limericks I have come up with, I have other, nonpiper ones also. I guess I will have to edit a bit. Dungathol Piper There once was a piper from Dungathel. Who played in a band from Athole. But when he played in that band, His piping wasn’t that grand, And everyone said he’...

I take it you don’t have you old Frankenset anymore either?

You shouldn't have any trouble selling it though.

Are you able to play that pretty Rogge set of yours at this time, or is the tummy in the way?
Now you will be really sleep deprived.

The State agency that I work for, the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, if probably involved in this project, at least on an approval basis. Malibu has many water quality issues.

That second barrel, with the slides is set up like a musette de cour.

Chris is on holiday for a couple of weeks, so he might not be able to get back to you that soon. Although he has already posted since going to France.

Hi Richard I know this isn't ideal, but I have a number of reeds around from different chanters and ones I have made. None of these reeds (for D chanters) are what I would call particularly good reeds, but one may work in your chanter. You can try them out if you would like. I know you live close. I...

This doesn’t seem to be a good way to keep business. It would cost a lot to get a full set reeded.

But it is kind of what Ford, Toyota, and the other auto dealers do. They charge a ridiculous amount for parts, and that was not always the case for auto parts.

Actually, David Quinn once told me that Benedict is much better at doing the restoration work than he is. Either of them would be a good choice though.

I had a great time. Mickey is a very nice guy and a great piper. He is proof that there are gentleman pipers. Thanks Larry and Linda for hosting, and feeding us. My wife was not please when she noticed I was getting ready to go back to Larry’s on Sunday so she chained me and wouldn’t let me out to p...

Yes, the ivory nut has a very nice look. I am having a new ¾ set (Taylor style concert pitch) made by Michael Hubbard (and Mike “MikeyLikesIt”) using the palm nut for mounts. Hopefully Michael and Mike will be able to get larger pieces and perfect their skills in working with it by the time they mak...

Too bad I am such an old bugger. I studied Japanese (Nihongo) in college (back in 1980). Could I send my wife? She is not a piper and she is in here 40’s too, but is there a chance? Just kidding. I actually did think about doing something like this in my college days. I have friends and a grandfathe...
