Sheesh. For the girls, here. There are endless variations of boys trying to maintain their stud reputation. Subtle bragging and demeaning are par. Dominance, ye know.. Scene at baseball game. Player One...seeking to demote masculinity of Player Two; "You ran those bases like an old lady!" ...

Re: Economic question
Maybe your "frugal" friend could compute her retirement income...then overlay it to various scenarios in the US. The possibilities are wildly variable in this vast place.

Re: American Idol...well into the season
I'll miss Siobhan..
I LIKE her lack of Pop Appeal.
I LIKE her uniqueness...visual and personal.
I even like the stratospheric wailing...in measured doses.
And, since I love to play airs on Low Whistles...
...I'm rather fond of Torpid.

My partner is out of here, for a few hours.
I'm whistling a happy and unfettered tune.
When she comes home...
....all will be quiet.

Watched this a few weeks ago.
Was impressed at how weak and contrived Mr Jagger seemed, after the dreadnought power-squealing and enduro-dancing of Mr Brown.
Mr Wimpy Vs The Volcano.
I'm not a big fan of either...now that the decades have intervened.
But it was a fascinating contrast.

Gary... Forty...Shmorty! I'm "A-Musing1944"....white of beard...and still really enjoying my brass Low Eb, and Low F whistles made by you. Two of the finest, most sensitive, and beautiful whistles I own. Glad to see you're still maintaining interest, as a maker...and look forward to your f...

Palimpsest...
I've played a Chieftain Gold Low D. The one I owned had a great "french horn" type muted tone. Lovely.
If you get one, be ready for some serious whistle-weight!
These babies are real war clubs!

With that cheap little no-nuttin' whistle, no wonder he's having trouble.
Guess that's well before Overtons and Burkes, and the like.
The Sultana may just prefer a designer job.

Re: American Idol...well into the season
Sigh. I'm old and jaded. Corporate-sponsored TV feels a bit like eating at a fast-food franchise. Easy to feel fussy about the "food." I check in to American Idol. Listen to how these hard-working kids are singing. Wish'em all well. Some (Crystal) are less "fast food" than others...

Re: Feline imponderables
Sigh. We've been through this before, around here. It's very ponderable. We're here to feed, serve, and entertain our little friends. At their behest. In their timeframe. Get used to it. Our eldest is now approaching true, not close, obesity. Yikes. Kinda hassock-like. Lovable. Wide. We're consideri...

Come on!
You HAD to fear for Kirk, when the razor-sharp big baton sliced his shirt!
Maybe some of you old-timers remember Roy Rogers. His endless fistfights were mailed in from across the room....like Hollywood air-kisses.
Ah...suspended belief. Where would we be without it?
